"Designing outside the Museum Box" - Jacqueline Tang, Designer, Lord Cultural Resources, was a speaker at the Toronto Design Exchange in their Storytellers: Exhibition Design Lecture Series on November 1, 2011. The speeches explore any aspect of exhibition design from conception to presentation. TEDxPhnomPenh conference - Maria Fernandez Sabau, Managing Director of Lordcultura in Spain, spoke at the TEDxPhnomPenh conference in PhnomPenh, Cambodia on October 15, 2011.



"Opportunities and Challenges of an International Practice" - Brad King presented at the Eight Annual Symposium on Exhibition and Experience Design (SEGD) on August 12, 2011 at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. "Stoking the Fires: Interpreting African American History in the Library" - Joy Bailey. On August 5, 2011, as part of the Association of African American Museums Annual Meeting (AAAM), Joy Bailey moderated a session on "Stoking the Fires: Interpreting African American History in the Library" at the Turnbull Center in Tallahassee, FL.



"Groundbreaking New Facilities: If We Build It, Will They Come?" - Gail Lord moderated a panel entitled "Groundbreaking New Facilities: If We Build It, Will They Come?" on Toronto’s cultural renaissance at the International Society for Performing Arts Congress in Toronto on June 15, 3:30 to 4:30 pm.

Art Museum Development Association Conference in Toronto, ON - Gail Lord and Kate Markert, Executive Director, Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens presented a session for development professionals on Strategic Planning with relevant case studies at the Art Museum Development Association Conference in Toronto on 12 May 2011, 12 to 1 pm. Gail and Kate are the co-authors of The Manual of Strategic Planning for Museums, published by Altamira Press.



"Cultural Tourism, Cultural Change and Museum Planning in India" - Barry Lord spoke on Cultural Tourism, Cultural Change and Museum Planning in India at Casuarina, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road in New Delhi, India on April 8, 2011. Presentation to the Chief Minister of Bihar, India - On April 6, 2011, Barry Lord and Batul Mehta presented to Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on the requirements for a world-class museum in Patna. Read the coverage by Indian press.



"Creating Your Own Social Media" - Lindsay Martin and Kory French from the New York Lord Cultural Resources team paired with two representatives from LaPlaca Cohen to deliver a workshop at the "Museums and the Web 2011" conference in Philadelphia, PA, on April 6, 2011. The presentation, titled "Creating Your Own Social Media", was a giant success. Masterclass in Abu Dhabi - Laure Confavreux Colliex, Associate Director of Lordculture, led a Masterclass at Global City 2011, the international forum for public and private leaders to exchange best practices and share sustainable urban strategies, hosted by the Abu Dhabi Government at the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi on March 16, 2pm. Entitled "Local Values and Culture: The Fourth Pillar of Sustainable Cities", Masterclass participants were:

    "Culture and Tourism – Visions of the Future" - Paul Alezraa, Director, Lordculture, led a two-hour workshop “Culture and Tourism – Visions of the Future” at the IV Polish Lódz Conference on Culture and Tourism in Lódz, Poland on October 27, 2010.



    Best Practices and New Trends in Exhibitions – Digital Technologies for Stronger Experiences? - Ameline Coulombier, Consultant, Lordculture, was keynote speaker on “Multimediations” at the conference Best Practices and New Trends in Exhibitions – Digital Technologies for Stronger Experiences? at the Museum of Ethnography in Stockholm, Sweden on October 11. It was an internal workshop with the Museum staff and was broadcasted live for Swedish museum professionals.

    First International Conference of Museums in the Arab World at Balamand University, Lebanon - Barry Lord was a Keynote speaker at the First International Conference of Museums in the Arab World organized by The Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARDO) in collaboration with Balamad University and partnership with Arab ICOM. This two-day seminar held under the theme “Museums: A Way to Intercultural Communication & Social Cohesion” took place at Hussam Eddine Hariri Hall at Balamand University Campus in Lebanon on September 28 and 29, 2010.     International Workshop on New Resources for Culture - Gail and Barry Lord participated in an international workshop entitled "New Resources for Culture" organized by Bologna Arts Managers (BAM) at the National Gallery of Bologna, Italy on 24 and 25 September 2010. The workshop provided an opportunity for cultural operators in Italy to interact directly with Gail and Barry Lord and to discuss their problems for organizations that employ them. This practical training and strategic event curated by BAM focused on issues related to cultural management in Italy from local and global perspective. Cultural Operators worldwide face challenges and problems greater than in the past: poor funding, growing public expectations, increasingly diversified users, continuous technological change, and many others.
