NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES
Manila, Philippines, 1997–98
Lord Cultural Resources was appointed by the Philippines' Presidential Committee to prepare a Master Plan for the National Museum Philippines, the Functional Program for the first building, and the Centennial Exhibition. The new building is the first step in an ambitious project to establish three national museums in central Manila – one for Fine Art, one for Natural History, and one for Archaeology, Anthropology and History – through adaptive re-use of early 20th century government buildings by American architect James Burnham. Lord Cultural Resources developed the Concept for the new Museum, programmed the transformation of the historic building to provide museum conditions, and planned, designed and managed the fabrication of the new exhibition that tells The Story of the Filipino People from pre-historic times to the present day.
