PEABODY MUSEUM OF ARCHAEOLOGY AND ETHNOLOGY
Harvard University, 2007–08
The Peabody Museum is one of the oldest museums in the world devoted to anthropology and houses one of the most comprehensive records of human cultural history in the Western Hemisphere. Lord Cultural Resources facilitated a planning process for a five-year Strategic Plan that examined the museum's current situation and explored the opportunities for the future. As part of the process we developed an environmental scan of current trends and the competitive environment for the museum, consulted campus opinion leaders, interviewed staff, analyzed the collection and current facility, and developed a detailed comparables study. Through facilitated discussion of this research and the museums aspirations, the Museum has now articulated a vision for the future, a five-year strategic plan, a space program for the long-term future and a business plan that articulates the operating and financial requirements of this vision.
