ROYAL ALBERTA MUSEUM
Edmonton, Alberta, 2003–04
The mission of the Royal Alberta Museum (formerly the Provincial Museum of Alberta) is to preserve and tell the story of Alberta – the experience of people and places over time – and inspire Albertans to explore and understand the world around them. In April 2003, the Minister for Alberta Community Development announced $100 million Centennial Capital project to renew and expand the Museum at its present location overlooking the North Saskatchewan River Valley. Lord Cultural Resources was contracted to assist the Royal Alberta Museum and Alberta Infrastructure in the next stage of planning of the Museum's Renewal. Our consultants worked closely with the Museum to finalize the Renewal Plan and prepare the Facilities Development Plan which formed the foundation for next stage of functional programming and architectural design. The Renewal Project broke ground in Alberta's Centennial Year, 2005.
