SAUDI ARABIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM & DARAT AL MALIK ABD AL AZIZ
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 1996–99
Following an extensive international architectural competition, a team led by Lord Cultural Resources was selected to develop the concept and provide exhibition planning, design and museology services for the new Saudi Arabian National Museum and the adjacent Darat al Malik Abd al Aziz historic palace complex in Riyadh, working closely with architects Ray Moriyama of Canada and Rasem Badran of Jordan. Lord Cultural Resources was further commissioned to provide project management services, coordinating an international team of exhibition fabrication and show production professionals through to opening day. The Museum and the Darat complex opened in January 1999 as a key feature of the Centenary Celebrations for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
