SINGAPORE ART MUSEUM
Singapore, 1992–95
Lord Cultural Resources prepared the Functional Brief for the conversion of the historic St. Joseph's Institution Building to serve as the Art Gallery of the National Museum of Singapore, known as the Singapore Art Museum. Our Functional Brief for the building detailed every functional requirement of each room in the renovation and expansion project. The Brief set new standards for preventive conservation in the tropics by detailing separate relative humidity and temperature levels for those areas where works of art from the temperate zone may be shown, and those areas where materials that originated in the tropics will be kept. The Singapore Art Museum officially opened to great acclaim in January 1996.
