VESTERHEIM NORWEGIAN-AMERICAN MUSEUM

The Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum explores Norwegian-American heritage through exhibitions as well as innovative and engaging programs, including organized tours to Norway, folk art classes and competitions, and participation in the community's Nordic Fest celebrations. Lord Cultural Resources was engaged to lead a series of workshops specifically designed to empower museum staff in the development of a new permanent exhibition. Initial training in evaluation trends and techniques provided the basis for further workshops on interpretive planning and traveling exhibitions. The result is a comprehensive new interpretive plan designed to re-energize Vesterheim's permanent exhibition spaces, as well as an interpretive plan and design concept for an entirely new traveling exhibition.
