Project Experience

Centre Pompidou

2005

Since opening in 1977, the Centre Pompidou has been an innovative institution of modern and contemporary art, including new media. The Centre’s interest in multimedia resulted in the creation of a New Media collection in its Musée national d’art moderne in 1980. The collection is comprised of 89 international multimedia installations and 1100 video tapes, soundtracks, CD-Rom and Internet sites.  From 2005 to 2009 a selection of 29 works by French and international artists was presented around the world in a travelling exhibition. The exhibit featured pioneers of the discipline such as Dan Graham, Peter Campus, Jean-Luc Godard and Chris Marker, as well as contemporary artists Pierre Huyghe, Isaac Julien and Mark Leekey.

Lordculture, the European company of Lord Cultural Resources, was appointed by the Pompidou Centre for the logistic and technical supervision of the exhibition including insurance and transport issues, and assisting each venue with the installation and de-installation of the exhibition. The exhibition travelled until early 2009 to the following locations: La Caixa, Barcelona; Fine Art Museum, Taipei, Taiwan; Miami Art Central; Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia; Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne; Museo do Chiado, Lisbon, Portugal; Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre, Cyprus; Honolulu Academy of Arts, Hawaii; Musée Fabre, Montpellier, France.
