Project Experience

Jeune Montreal

2017-18

Children’s museums focus primarily on the needs of very young children and most report their age focus is either 0-8 or 0-10 or 0-12. Jeune Montreal is to go beyond the mission of a traditional children’s museum. It is to also meet the needs of teenagers and even be attended by adults not accompanying children.

Lord Cultural Resources was engaged to develop the concept and prepare a business plan and projections associated with the capital development and operation of the future children’s museum. Our team developed a concept that will allow visitors to enjoy hands-on learning experiences in a microcosm of Montréal as they explore a wide variety of unique and exciting exhibition spaces. A combination play-space, program-rich destination experience, developmental learning lab and youth-oriented activity and entertainment venue, the Museum will emphasize the culture of childhood and also employ contemporary learning facilitation practices. Located in the core of a large, multicultural metropolis, the Museum will reflect the diverse cultural and economic perspectives of all Montréalais.

In an email to Lord Cultural Resources, Jeune Montreal founder Jane Siblin said the following:

“Lord has played an immeasurable and ongoing role in making Jeune Montréal a reality. The extensive services provided by Lord is steering us every step of the way to help actualize our dream. The wisdom, expertise, and creative point of view from Lord’s talented team is second to none.”
