Diversity as Strength from Around the Field: Commemorating Black History Month 2018

This month we are celebrating Black History Month, along with countless other museums, cities, and cultural organizations across North America. Here's what Joy Bailey-Bryant, Managing Director, US at Lord Cultural Resources had to say:

 

 

 

 

What a month! The unveiling of the Obama portraits started a global conversation on contemporary art, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea became one of the most diverse winter sports competitions in history, and the movie, Black Panther took over theaters across the world.

It is February, the shortest month, the month of love, and in the US and Canada, a month set aside to celebrate stories of people of African descent. Every month we send out Cultural News, a round-up of stories pertaining to culture across the globe—subscribe here. This month, we celebrate the importance of Black history year-round with a round-up of stories pertaining to people of African descent and encourage you to enjoy the diversity of culture wherever you may be.
