The Newly Redesigned and Highly Interactive Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly Opens in Lorient, France

After welcoming more than 550,000 visitors over 7 years, the Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly, a museum dedicated to sailing and ocean racing, has completely renovated its exhibition space to become the gateway to the Lorient La Base, the largest European center dedicated to offshore racing. The Cité de la Voile’s newly imagined, innovative space is highly interactive and features more sensory experiences with a large immersive projection, a simulator of navigation, racing games and playful hands-on exhibits to take the visitor into the magical world of yacht racing. The Cité takes advantage of the latest technology to showcase the best of sailing and offshore racing, while at the same time offering a more playful and dynamic exhibition that is accessible to everyone. A real window into the high-tech world of the nautical industry, the Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly opened on April 28, 2015, after 6 months of construction, funded by Lorient Agglomération and led by the architectural design firm Atelier Sompairac Architectes.

Lordculture worked with Lorient Agglomeration for three years on this project: from the initial phase to developing a new detailed program which enhances the visitor experience. Subsequently, the Lordculture's' team assisted the client in selecting a designer, advised on design and then supervised the implementation and production of the new exhibition. Lordculture also worked closely with the Cité team to write content for the exhibition.

We congratulate and wish the Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly ongoing success.
