Project Experience

REMAI MODERN
Remai Modern opened in 2017 as a museum of modern and contemporary art in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is a direction-setting art museum and gathering place for culture and community which includes 11 gallery spaces, a 150-seat theatre, restaurant, outdoor terraces and rooms with stunning views of the South Saskatchewan River. Remai Modern provides a Canadian and Saskatchewan perspective on global modern and contemporary art movements through a mix of regional, national and international programs.
In 2020, Lord Cultural Resources was selected to conduct the Museum’s first strategic plan. Under new leadership with new Co-Executive directors, a mostly new Board of Directors and the Pandemic, the plan sought to provide stability to the institution with a new vision and series of strategic goals developed in collaboration with Museum leadership and the Board.
In 2021 Lord Cultural Resources was re-engaged to develop a business plan and projections intended to increase attendance and earned income levels in two admission charge scenarios. One scenario was for continued admission charges for adults with the exception of a by donation day of the week. The second scenario was for admissions by donation on a daily basis. In October of 2022 the Board decided to adopt the daily by donation scenario
