Aftacon 2026

Lord Cultural Resources is heading to AFTACON, the premier US convening for arts, culture, and civic life organized by Americans for the Arts.

Taking place in Albuquerque, NM from June 2–5, the conference brings together leaders and practitioners from across the cultural sector to explore the vital role of the arts in strengthening communities, economies, and democracy.

Arts, Humanities, and Community Vitality

On June 2, Lord’s Valerie Guevara, Senior Manager, and Tiffany Lyons, Senior Consultant, will be facilitating this session. We look forward to a rich exchange of ideas and connecting with colleagues from across the field.

The morning session of the Arts, Humanities, and Community Vitality Incubator will feature an opening plenary called Woven Together: Arts, Humanities, and Community Vitality, followed by the option of three breakout sessions: 

  • Anchored in Story: Artists and Humanists as Historians in Times of Change
  • Designing for Impact: Real-World Models of Humanities-Driven Community Change
  • Redefining Gaps and Assets: Culture First Strategies for Housing, Transit, and Beyond.
