Liberation War Museum

2012

The Liberation War Museum is dedicated to all freedom loving people and victims of mindless atrocities and destructions committed in the name of religion, ethnicity and sovereignty. The Museum encourages reflection upon the sufferings and heroism of the Bangladesh Liberation War, fought in 1971, and its ideals, and endeavors to link this history with contemporary pressing social and humanitarian issues. The Museum is in the process of securing, designing and building a permanent home, an important step to ensuring that its work will continue for generations to come.

The Liberation War Museum retained Lord Cultural Resources to review facility plans and provide a functional and technical review to ensure the building would meet best practices for museums and suit the Museum’s requirements. The facility review focused on the consultant teams’ analysis of the architectural concept, digital format of floorplans, and technical specifications provided by the architect and engineer. The scope of services included a space program for the building as well as recommendations for potential adaptations to the design based on collection and usage. Lord Cultural Resources was also responsible for developing the interpretive plan and exhibition concept for the new facility.
