Project Experience

New Center for Arts and Culture

2001-05, 2007

The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston engaged Lord Cultural Resources to conduct a Master Plan for an innovative new cultural facility with the goals of strengthening Jewish identity, community building and creating a “cultural commons” for the greater Boston region.

In 2001–02, Lord Cultural Resources led a multi-disciplinary team to complete a three-phased Master Planning process. This included an extensive Needs Assessment with over 120 interviews and a Development Phase focusing on building consensus for the NCAC concept, market testing the programs and developing detailed plans for programming, governance and staffing and facilities. Based on these plans, we developed detailed attendance and financial projections and charted a “critical path” for its successful implementation. We continue to work on the implementation of this project with the architect Studio Daniel Libeskind toward a planned opening in 2010.
