ICOM General Conference 2025

Lord Cultural Resources was proud to take part in the ICOM General Conference 2025 in Dubai from November 11–17. The gathering brought together museum professionals from around the world to explore “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,” a theme that resonates deeply with our team.

Our Co-Founder & Partner Gail Lord and Senior Consultant Elisa Bailey represented Lord throughout the week.

Gail co-led a mentoring session for emerging museum professionals, sharing insights on strategic planning for museum building projects and the importance of aligning vision, community needs and long-term sustainability.

Elisa contributed to the program with her presentation “Records and Rebels,” offering reflections on how music, memory and resistance can shape transformative visitor experiences.

She also presented “Resilience, Resistance and Recovery,” which highlighted how sound and song have carried communities through moments of upheaval.

Participating in ICOM 2025 strengthened our commitment to global collaboration and to helping museums navigate change with creativity, purpose, and care. We returned inspired by the conversations, connections and shared passion for the future of museums.
