The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Opens its Doors
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art— a new cultural institution dedicated to the power of visual storytelling—opens its doors to the public in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park today.
Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the Museum explores how images move us, tell stories, and shape our collective memory. It features 100,000 square feet of artworks, two state-of-the-art theaters, a free research library, and dedicated spaces for learning, dining, retail, and events, surrounded by 13-acres of park and gardens designed by Mia Lehrer and Studio-MLA.
Lord Cultural Resources is proud to have supported the Lucas Museum team through several years of planning leading up to its opening. Our initial work focused on developing a robust financial model and business plan, exploring operating scenarios, attendance, diversified revenue streams, and long-term sustainability. We subsequently worked with staff and leadership on strategic and action planning, including research and benchmarking, extensive engagement, the development of Mission, Vision, and Values, and the articulation of strategic priorities for the Museum’s impact in South Los Angeles and beyond.
Congratulations to the Lucas Museum team, its founders, and all those who have brought this extraordinary new institution to life!
