Bobby Orr Hall of Fame wins two awards
Fantastic news for the Bobby Orr Hall Of Fame, which was recently awarded the CASH (Canadian Association for Sport Heritage) Award of Excellence and the ISHY (International Sports Heritage Association) 2024 Award for New Exhibit.
A native of Parry Sound, Ontario, Bobby Orr remains one of the greatest hockey players that Canada has ever produced. In 2022 the Town of Parry Sound and the staff and management initiated a process to re-vision and reinvigorate the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame. The Town contracted Lord Cultural Resources as part of a team led by kubik maltbie in association with WeatherstonBruer Associates to conduct the work beginning in March 2022. Our work included interpretive planning to develop the main themes, communication messages, key stories, and potential means of expression for each exhibit. We also engaged in stakeholder consultation and content development for the exhibition. The new exhibits highlight Parry Sound’s unique environment and strong community values that have produced people who have achieved excellence in sport and community-building as exemplified by Bobby Orr and the other members of the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame.
