Celebrating Jamie Bennett’s New Role with AFTA
Jamie Bennett, Lord Thought Leader and Associate, is taking on his latest project: interim co-CEO of Americans for the Arts (AFTA), alongside Suzy Delvalle.
“Jamie is such a valuable voice in every room and community he enters. AFTA will benefit enormously from his national cultural policy leadership. I am also happy to report that Jamie will continue to serve as a Thought Leader at Lord. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us!" — Joy Bailey-Bryant, Lord President and Managing Partner
AFTA’s mission is to build recognition and support for the extraordinary and dynamic value of the arts and to lead, serve, and advance the diverse networks of organizations and individuals who cultivate the arts in America.
Together, Jamie and Lord are continuing to cultivate deep expertise in federal cultural policy. The AFTA work comes on the heels of an unprecedented national summit co-hosted by The White House Domestic Policy Council and the National Endowment for the Arts that we helped produce; and it is concurrent with an ongoing project with PolicyLink that is investigating ways to make cultural policy more central in future Presidential administrations.
The best policy flows from practice, and all of this work is informed by the work that Jamie and Lord have done with the American Museum of Natural History, the Barr Foundation, the BIG We Foundation, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the MacArthur Foundation, the Starfish Foundation, and the US tour of Walk With Amal.
Please join us in congratulating Jamie. You can reach out to him directly at jbennett@lord.ca.
