City Arts Center

2010-14

City Arts Center, formerly known as the Arts Annex, was created in 1961 by the Mr. And Mrs. John E. Kirkpatrick Foundation as part of the Oklahoma Science & Arts Foundation (OSAF). The purpose of OSAF was to provide educational programming for children and adults, with a focus on science and the visual arts.

When the City Arts Center planned its move to Downtown Oklahoma City, and with new leadership in place, Lord Cultural Resources assisted the Kirkpatrick Foundation with planning for the future by developing a Master Plan. Our team provided a complete Internal and External Assessment, which included Board and key informant interviews, staff workshops, community meetings, potential partnerships, audience surveys and a market analysis. Strategy and Positioning was based on the assessment and articulates the center’s core activities, as well as a clear and unique position in the local and regional market to help inform future programming plans.
