Humber River Hospital Heritage Room

2014-16

In October 2015, Humber River Hospital moved to a new state-of-the-art acute care facility at Keele Street and Highway 401 in Toronto. The new facility features cutting-edge medical technology, expanded patient amenities, and a Heritage Room open to patients, visiting family members, hospital staff and volunteers, and the public. The Heritage Room will enable visitors to learn more about the hospital’s history and will be a bright and welcoming space that complements Humber River Hospital’s corporate identity.

Lord Cultural Resources, along with multimedia partner NGX Interactive, has been engaged by Humber River Hospital to provide exhibition design and development for the Heritage Room. The Heritage Room will include an interactive touch table that explores previous sites and important individuals in Humber River Hospital’s history, a legacy timeline of key milestones, an interactive heritage quiz, a community mural, and rotating artifact displays. These exhibition elements will reflect Humber River Hospital’s mission, vision, and values, while instilling a sense of pride in its origins and growth. Further, the Heritage Room aims to foster community among staff, volunteers, patients, and the public by connecting them through a shared history at Humber River Hospital.
