Project Experience

Please Touch® Museum

1997, 1999

In 1997, Lord Cultural Resources was asked by one of America’s leading children’s museums, the Please Touch® Museum, to carry out a Feasibility Study for an expansion of the Museum. Nancy Kolb described our study as “the most important step in the history of the Museum. Lord Cultural Resources’ professionalism, track record, and sensitivity to our needs, based on their years of experience in the field, will undoubtedly pay big dividends to us. Their plan stands as a blueprint to what Please Touch® will be in the 21st century and beyond.”

On the strength of this work, Lord Cultural Resources was asked to prepare the Business Plan to guide implementation of the relocation. The Museum opened in October 2008 in Memorial Hall, a restored National Historic Landmark building.

“The Lord Cultural Resources study and report more than 10 years ago was the reason behind our move.”

Laura H. Foster, Executive Director, 2008
