Project Experience

The New Mexico History Museum

The New Mexico History Museum seeks to present exhibitions and public programs that interpret statewide historical experiences and events to foster an appreciation of the diverse cultures of New Mexico. In 2009 the Museum opened and added 30,000 square feet of exhibition space to the Palace of the Governors. In 2015, the Museum appointed a new Director, and the Palace of the Governors was declared a national treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

In light of these recent accomplishments, the Museum engaged Lord Cultural Resources to provide strategic planning services. The new strategic plan will help the Museum focus future efforts, strengthen community ties throughout New Mexico, and set a path forward for enhancing the Museum’s role as the State’s history museum and pride of the Southwest.
