Township of Langley Recreation and Cultural Plan

2014-15

The Township of Langley is a unique municipality located in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland. Composed of several urban agglomerations such as Fort Langley, Aldergrove and Walnut Grove, the Township is working with Lord Cultural Resources in partnership with RC Strategies of Edmonton and Professional Environmental Recreational Consultants (PERC) of Surrey to develop a Recreation and Cultural Plan for the Township.

In association with RC Strategies which led the recreational part of the plan, Lord Cultural Resources is taking the lead on the cultural planning part of the exercise, and developed its recommendations with reference to the 2011 Arts and Cultural Strategy that was produced by the Township. Our recommendations very much related to revision of goals from the previous plan in light of recent developments, particularly with regard to the need to define the Township’s exact role in culture given recent organizational changes, and maximizing the potential and the impact of several important and/or emerging cultural assets in the Township.
