A permanent exhibition entitled Faces of Freedom: The Czech and Slovak Journey opened at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library (NCSML) in Cedar Rapids, IA on June 15, 2013. 

Lord Cultural Resources provided the Visioning, Interpretive Planning, Content Coordination and Development, graphic templates and case layouts for the exhibition in cooperation with Xibitz, who are Project Managers and the fabricators of the exhibition.

On May 23, 2013, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in collaboration with Lord Cultural Resources hosted Mr. Song Xinchao, President of the Chinese Museums Association and Deputy Director-General for State Administration of Culture Heritage, The People's Republic of China. During his one-day stay in Toronto, Mr. Song visited the ROM and made a presentation on the current unprecedented growth of Chinese museums. Mr. Song also spoke about the fascinating, rapid, and dynamic progress of museum sector in his country.

Launch of Wind River Virtual Museum of Ancestral Artifacts

The Wind River Virtual Museum aims to provide members of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes of the Wind River Reservation in Central Wyoming a vehicle to retain their cultural heritage, as the numbers of tribal elders are diminishing. The virtual museum also attempts to give next generation of tribal members and the general public a way to learn about the heritage of these two tribes.

UC Davis Selects Architectural Team To Create An Art Museum For The 21st Century

The architectural design has been selected for the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis. The selected design is the "Grand Canopy," which was shaped by architect SO – IL, with Bohlin Cywinski Jackson as the architect of record and Whiting-Turner as the building contractor. Congratulations to the selected architects!

Lord Cultural Resources developed the architectural program and advised on the design-build team selection process.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum Reopens

A brand new permanent exhibition and visual identity for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum (IRCM) were launched in April. The new permanent exhibition entitled The Humanitarian Adventure aims to trace the major stages of humanitarian history before and after the creation of the Red Cross. A competition to design the new scenography for the permanent exhibition was launched with the assistance of Lordculture in 2010. Nine international architect/scenographer firms were invited to take part. The jury selected three internationally acclaimed architects: Gringo Cardia from Brazil, Diébédo Francis Kéré from Burkina Faso and Shigeru Ban from Japan. Coordination of the overall master plan and the work of the three winning architects, as well as the redevelopment of the common spaces and the new temporary exhibition room were entrusted to atelier oï from Switzerland.
