This summer, Isaac Butler published an essay in The New York Times entitled “American Theater Is Imploding Before Our Eyes.” The publication sparked a lot of conversations among everyone in and near the performing arts. While there was general agreement with that diagnosis, there was far less consensus about the underlying cause and even less agreement about the best course of treatment. Please join Isaac, along with Nataki Garret (One Nation / One Project and Stephanie Ybarra (Mellon Foundation), for a wide-ranging, online conversation about the state of our field, how we got here, and where we might go next.
